15.01.2019 - Screening of the film "The Song of the Tree" (Kyrgyzstan) at the main Asian film competition. Serbian film-maker Jovan Markovic said: "This is a wonderful fairy tale. I haven’t seen such a beautiful story on the screen for a long time, which, like any fairy tale, has elements of cruelty, unjustice, struggle, but at the same time, this film is perfectly filmed, beautiful songs sound in it, in general the main thing is a positive life affirming motive."

14.01.2019 - West Meets East - Film-makers, experts from the world had meeting with film-makers, experts from Bangladesh. Among guests of the Dhaka International Film Festival film-makers and experts from West countries (USA, Great Britain, ex-Yugoslavia, Italy, Finland etc, and also from East countries (China, Corea, Japan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Tadjikistan, Nepal etc.). The participants from around the world had a great discussing about real situation in film-production and promotion cinema from Bangladesh and other countries of East to West. All participants have a great hope that all of us will do many efforts in their creative activity to develope this segment in our work.

Kyrgyz films at the 17th Dhaka IFF
 

The ‘17th Dhaka International Film Festival’ (DIFF) will be held in Dhaka from 10 to 18 January 2019. The Festival has been organized on a regular basis by Rainbow Film Society, which has been dedicated to the promotion of a healthy cine culture in Bangladesh and in celebrating the global mainstream in film and its social relevance since 1977.
