Premendra Mazumder, famous Indian film-critic, about Empty Home

Premendra Mazumder - Vice President of Federation of Film Societies of India & India Correspondent at Cannes Critics Week.

He was a jury member at "Shaken's Stars" IFF, Almaty, 2012, where film made by Nurbek Egen EMPTY HOME had awarded Prize for the best fiction.

We asked Mr. Premendra Mazumder to wrote for us some words about Empty Home, and today he sent us his opinion.

Premendra Mazumder: "I liked Nurbek Egen's full-length feature film "The Empty Home" very much. Its a joint production of Kyrgyzstan, Russia and France made in 2012. The cultural contexts of all these three countries have been reflected in the film without hampering the spirit of the story. The narrative follows through the life, dream and realities of the Kirghiz girl Ascel who travels from her homeland to Moscow to make her dreams true and for that sells her child to a French girl Virginie but finally faced the cruelest reality of life on the endless cross-roads. The film deserves to be shown in different festivals worldwide".
