One World Kyrgyzstan: call for the entries
Bir Duino (‘One World’) 2012 VI International Festival of Documentary Films on Human Rights “Bir Duino Kyrgyzstan” (September 24-28 2012) announces a call for entries
The committee of the VI International Film Festival (IFF) on Documentary Films on Human Rights would like to welcome all friends, fans, partners, and participants and announce that Selection Committee is now accepting submissions to the Festival.
Submissions deadline: June 1, 2012
Main themes of 2012 Festival:
• Human Rights and Rights of the Citizen
• Children’s Rights
• Women’s Rights
• Corruption
• Rights of citizens to know their rights
• Rights of Migrants
• Rights of Ethnic Minorities
• Rights of Citizens in Closed Institutions
• Rights of Vulnerable Groups
• Environmental Security
• The New Documentary Cinematography in Kyrgyzstan
Festival program consists of the following categories:
● International Competition – human rights documentaries produced in 2011-12 are accepted. As a rule, the host country (Kyrgyzstan) submits only one entry in this competition. Ten documentaries produced in different countries are expected to make it to the final list. ● National Competition – Kyrgyz human rights documentaries produced in 2011-12 are accepted. The final list will be made up of 10 selections.
● Out of Competition – includes documentaries which, due to various reasons, were not included in the two competitions, but are of great interest to the audience. Creation of a panorama of fiction films on human rights is being currently discussed.
● Out of Competition Program for Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Regions (October 1-30) will include winning entries from the two competitions.
