Synopsis:

During the 1941-45 war, Kyrgyz soldier Kalmurat was captured by the Germans and worked as a groom. After the war, he married a German nurse, Greta. Helmut (Kalmurat) and his wife, Greta, moved to the village of Rosenberg in Germany. However, homesickness haunted him, and every year he sent a letter to his brother in the Kirghiz SSR. But there was no reply. Finally, forty-three years later, the long-awaited letter from his younger brother arrived. In it, his brother called Helmut (Kalmurat) a traitor to his homeland and wrote that he would rather die than be alive, and that no one was waiting for him. The letter brought death to Helmut. In fact, the letter was written by the KGB.
