The T. Okeev National Film Studio "Kyrgyzfilm" has started production on a full-length historical and dramatic feature film titled "Jusup", dedicated to the life and legacy of Jusup Abdrakhmanov — a great statesman and political figure, one of the founders of the Kyrgyz statehood, the father of the nation, who left a profound mark on the history of 20th-century Kyrgyzstan.

The film will depict the complex fate of Jusup Abdrakhmanov and his decisive role in laying the foundations of national statehood. Through the life story of this outstanding politician, who devoted himself to the struggle for Kyrgyzstan’s independence and the future of its people, the film aims to revisit key chapters of national history and inspire a sense of patriotism in the younger generation.

The film is directed by Taalaybek Kulmendeyev, an Honored Cultural Worker of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan.

Currently, the stage of directorial analysis has been fully completed, and the project has entered the pre-production phase. The production team has announced a casting call for leading and supporting roles and is working on selecting filming locations.

Filming is planned to take place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tashkent, as well as in several regions of Kyrgyzstan.

The national premiere of the film is scheduled for August 25, 2026. This date is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Kyrgyz ASSR, and the 125th anniversary of the birth of the great statesman and father of the nation, Jusup Abdrakhmanov.

The producer of the project is Talantbek Tolobekov.
