The Road To Eden: Award for the best film of Dhaka IFF now reached Bishkek
Two years ago - on the 25.01.2021 - we informed that Kyrgyz film "The Road To Eden" won Award for the best film at the 19th Dhaka IFF. Two directors of this film could not take part in the festival in Dhaka. The prize was delivered to Bishkek only in March 2023! We thank the director of the festival in Dhaka Ahmed Muztaba Zamal and everyone who helped bring the prize to Bishkek.
The 19th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) was held in Dhaka from 16 to 24 January 2021. The general theme of the festival is ‘Better Film, Better Audience and Better Society’. The Festival has been organized on a regular basis by Rainbow Film Society, which has been dedicated to the promotion of a healthy cine culture in Bangladesh and in celebrating the global mainstream in film and its social relevance since 1977.

Synopsis.The main character of the film Kubat Aliev is an outstanding and retired writer, a widower living alone in his flat. One day, Kubat reveals that his friend is sick. He sells his flat in order to pay for his friend’s treatment but at the same time, his younger brother is beaten by the collector for the debts. Kubat should then choose whom to help, to his brother or to the writer friend.

Bakyt Mukul & Dastan Zhapar Uulu
Bakyt Mukul is an actor and film director from Kyrgyzstan. Was born in 1965. Education: Theater School with a degree in drama and film actor, 1991. 2017 – Member of the Asia Pacific Screen Academy (APSA), Australia.
Dastan Zhapar Uulu is a filmmaker from Kyrgyzstan. Was born in 1988. Education: 2005 - 2010 Graduated from the Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts in the Theatre and Cinema Faculty. 2017 – Member of the Asia Pacific Screen Academy (APSA), Australia.
The first film of this duet of directors was “A Father’s Will” (2016).
P.S. We would like to remind that in 2019 award for the Best film of Dhaka IFF won Kyrgyz film "The Song of the Tree" made by Aibek Dairbekov.
