WORLD CINEMA FUND (Berlinale)
The Berlin International Film Festival launched the World Cinema Fund in 2004, in co-operation with the German Federal Cultural Foundation (Kulturstiftung des Bundes) and the Goethe Institut.
The fund focuses its support on filmmakers in developing countries and regions which lack a constructive film industry in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and the Caucasus, as well as in Central and Southeast Asia.
The aim of the Fund is to help the realization of films which otherwise could not be produced and to strengthen their profiles in German cinemas.
Deadline: August 4, 2011 (Production) and August 26, 2011 (Distribution – Bi-monthly deadline)
