SCREENPLAY and TELEPLAY COMPETITION More than $120,000 in prizes will be awarded at the 2011 Ventura Film Festival to be this summer in the California beach city of Ventura. The Ventura Film Festival is the biggest and most prestigious film festival in Ventura County. This year's Ventura Film Festival will feature twice as many films and 3 more days than in 2010.
There have also been three new categories added to the festival lineup; Animation Features, Animation Shorts, and Surf Films. 2011 marks the 3rd year of the Ventura Film Festival and will feature Academy Award winning star power like last years screening of the Oscar Winning documentary "The Cove" and will take place in theaters in Ventura, CA such as the Majestic Ventura Theater and the Century 10 Downtown Theaters.
The Ventura Film Festival is unique because it is a full fledged international film festival that is 100% volunteer based, with no employees, and it is a charity fundraiser for the environment.
The Ventura Film Festival also has a SCREENPLAY and TELEPLAY COMPETITION. Submissions are open world-wide and submission details are listed on the Ventura Film Festival web site located at: http://venturafilmfestival.org/submissions

Located just 60 miles north of Hollywood on the California coastline, the Ventura Film Festival is a charity that raises money and awareness for forest and ocean preservation and the environment.The Ventura Film Festival is 100% volunteer based, with no employees, and is the largest and most prestigious film festival in Ventura County with over 200 films of all types screened over a 10 day period each summer in the beautiful beach town of Ventura, California.

The Ventura Film Festival is an international film festival that screens Academy Award winning and and other award winning films of all genres as well as independent, local, and student films.The Ventura Film Festival is attended by fans, filmmakers, directors, producers, writers, actors and their friends and family as well as celebrities from all around the world including world champion and Olympic athletes, world famous musicians, directors, producers, industry executives, and actors.
The volunteer advisory panel of the Ventura Film Festival consists of industry legends and executives from the likes of Disney, ABC, UCLA, and Lionsgate.Theaters include the 1,200 seat Majestic Ventura Theater, where the well attended opening night ceremonies are held, and the Century 10 Theaters, both in historic and beautiful downtown Ventura, California.
