The Fifth International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival “Bir Duino Kyrgyzstan” (One World Kyrgyzstan, 20 - 25 September, 2011) announces the beginning of the selection committee.

 

 The “Bir Duino” IFF, is probably the most successful film festival in Kyrgyzstan. The content of this festival is of rich, serious documentary film character, the perception of which needs certain efforts of the viewers.

 

The “Bir Duino Kyrgyzstan” V. International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival Team has held the first broad work meeting of the organizational committee on the 12^th of April 2011.

 

The IFF “Bir Duino Kyrgyzstan” is held by Human Rights Center “Citizens Against Corruption” with support of Hivos Fund and European Commission. The organizers have decided to inform their partners about the upcoming forum beforehand. The forum is usually held on 20^th - 25^th of September in Bishkek, and in other regions of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan afterwards.

 

The IFF “Bir Duino” is constantly developing. Whilst the first three forums were confined only with one competitional program, there were two competitions: the National and International ones held in 2010. We point with content, that Grand Prix winner in National Competition- the film “The State and the Government” is chosen for the “Zvezdi Shakenna” IFF which will be held on the 11-15^th of May 2011 in Almaty.

The “Bir Duino” IFF is tending to renew the way of preparation works this season. For this purpose, the management of “Bir Duino” IFF have decided to widen the organizational group and has invited the leading experts of Ombudsmen`s Institute, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Education and Science, Public Cinematography Agency, Kyrgyz Cinematographists Union, Central-Asian networc on culture and arts. The representatives of a number of Higher Education Institutions also have come to the meeting: Kyrgyz-Turkish “Manas” University, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Bishkek Humanitarian University, Kyrgyzstan International University, Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, Law Academy, Diplomacy Academy under Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arabaev Kyrgyz State University, etc.

 

The “Bir Duino” IFF depends on the consultancy support of these organizations. There has been taken a decision on constant interaction between members of the committee. The members of the organizational committee will be regularly informed about the current work of “Bir Duino” team. Work meetings are going to be held regularly in order for the members to be aware of the forum preparations.

 

On the 14^th of April, 2011 the beginning of the selection committee will be officially announced. Cinematographists will be able to apply for the competitional programs of the festival.
