Today in program at the 14th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival: Aurora from Kyrgyzstan
Dates of the festival: 19-23.11.2019 Place: Yogyakarta, Indonesia Aurora by Bekzat Pirmatov will be shown at the Asian Feature Competitive program
JAFF is a premier Asian film festival in Indonesia that aims to nurture the idea that Asian cinema should be an organic part of Asian society. As themed film festival, we choose “Revival” as festival theme this year. This theme highlights Asians are realizing that they have much more to learn from one another than from the West therefore Asians must now decide to what extent Western legacies will be Asianized and what elements of Asian history will be recovered. However, Asia should be capable of addressing complex 21st century challenges at the intersection of geopolitical turbulence, economic volatility, social inequality, technological disruption, and environmental fragility.
