Today in VB: my column about 'Running to the Sky'

 

Movie from Kyrgyzstan "Running to the Sky" directed by Mirlan Abdykalykov won the International Critics Prize at the 24th Busan international Film Festival (Korea, November 3-12, 2019). Jury FIPRESCI members: Premchand Pottangadi (India), Elaine Guerini (Brazil), Seo Kok-Suk (South Korea). Motivation: "For it’s delicate portrait of a struggling country through the eyes of a boy who runs to transcend his limitations". Original title: Joo Kuluk, length - 89', 2019, Kyrgyzstan, director - Mirlan Abdykalykov
