Kazakh actress Samal Yeslyamova won award at the 71st Festival de Cannes - Best perfomance by an actress for the leading role in the movie Ayka made by Sergey Dvortsevoy.

Synopsis:

Ayka just gave birth.
She can't afford to raise a child.
She has no job, debts to be paid, not even a room of her own.
