Film from Kyrgyzstan has got first prize at the Dubai International Film Festival, UAE

Yesterday the 7th Dubai International Film Festival has finished in UAE.

Film «The Earrings» of young Kyrgyz director Nargiza Mamatkulova took part in it and got a first prize in the Asia Africa – Short competition.

It is touching story about tender spiritual world and inescapable reflections of mature girl and adult marriageable girl. Its eastern miniature filled of south color and oriental world-view.

Traditionally, the Kyrgyz are most respectful of the sanctity of marriage. This charming film tells of the unexpected arrival of an old friend of the mistress of the house, to a family with a girl who has reached marriageable age. The guest is accompanied by her son. The woman departs, leaving the son to help with the household. The young man and the girl work together, putting new plaster on the house, but they are embarrassed, and do not converse. However, an inquisitive and timid dialogue of looks is established between them.

This film was launched in project «Début» of young directors.

So, Kyrgyzstan presented their films at the DIFF for the third time. In 2008 film "We Are All Right" by Akzhol Bekbolotov was a laureate. In 2009 film "The Loss" by Nurlan Asanbekov participated in the contest in Dubai.
