Today the 11th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival has opened in USA


The 11th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival takes place October 21-28, 2010 in San Diego.


Kyrgyz filmmaker Nargiza Mamatkulova will take part in this film festival with her short-length movie «Earrings». It is one of ten films from Kyrgyzstan which were submitted for The 11th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival. Nargiza Mamatkulova's movie will be screening in the first day of festival.

 

According to film expert Gulbara Tolomushova, movie by one more Kyrgyz director Marat Sarulu "The Song of the southern seas" included into the festival program too.

The San Diego Asian Film Festival is an annual event of the San Diego Asian Film Foundation (SDAFF). It is one of the largest media arts organizations in North America that focuses on Asian American and Asian international cinema. Festival mission is to connect audiences to the human experience through the Pan Asian media arts. They've been around since 2000, premiering more than 140 independent films from around the world. Their emphasis is on Asian American cinema, but they also showcase international films, along with shorts, documentaries, and animation.

 

Along with films, patrons will be able to meet and speak with filmmakers and actors, enjoy meaningful discussions, hear live music, and enjoy nightly parties.
