Good news about Elnura Osmonalieva!
Elnura Osmonalieva was admitted to the Graduate Film program at the Tisch School ofthe Arts at the New York University and will be studying there from August 2013 onwards. It is a three year long Master of Fine Arts program. This school is considered to be number one in the USA and admission is highly competitive. This year the total number of applicants was 800 for 36 placements which means that only about 5% of applicants were admitted. Elnura will be the only student from the CIS studying in a highly diverse and talented class. The selection consisted of three stages. At the first two professors studied that creative portfolio of applicants which consisted of clips from previous films, scripts of future films and dialogues. The final stage was a half an hour long interview with three professors who asked semifinalists to make up stories for films to shoot in New York.
Among the famous alumni of the university who received the "Oscar" award are Woody Allen, Angelina Jolie, Whoopi Goldberg, and the winners of this year's Oscars Ang Lee, the director of "Life of Pi" and Ann Hathaway, who got the award for the best second female role. Also other start alumni are Martin Scorsese and Jim Jarmusch.
