29th Tromsø International Film Festival - January 14-20, 2019
Program: Horizon East
Status: European premiere
World premiere was: Busan IFF, New Currents, October 2018
Film-director: Bekzat Pirmatov, Kyrgyzstan
In the spirit of the historically close ties between Tromsø and our neighbors in the East, Tromsø International Film Festival aims to promote cultural exchange between our countries by presenting new films from the northeast. Starting with a selection of officially produced Soviet films at the very first TIFF edition in 1991, we have continued to present a selection of titles from the region that otherwise would not be screened in Norwegian cinemas. Since 2002, Horizon East has been a regular sidebar for feature films and documentaries from Russia, Finland, and the Baltic states.
